Disney World has a number of high-speed roller coasters, including Big Thunder Mountain and Expedition Everest, which can be quite scary. The topper is likely Space Mountain, which emulates a terrifying ride in an out-of-control space ship. The biggest thrills come from the surrounding environment--the entire roller coaster is in the dark.

On the Other: Tower of Terror Lives Up to Its Name

Located in the Disney Hollywood Studios park, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror provides thrills no roller coaster can replicate. The ride places you in a faux malfunctioning elevator and drops you multiple stories over and over again. The number of stories you fall changes each time, which prevents your body from becoming accustomed to the drop.

    Bottom Line

Tower of Terror tops many people's lists, but scares depend largely upon the individual. Some find roller coasters scarier than drops, and more than a few would claim that "It's a Small World" chills the blood more than any so-called "scary" ride (all those creepy eyed children...).
