<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Fashion Icons Like Keds
Keds have been around since 1924 and have gone in and out of fashion ever since. As 2010 dawned, however, these sneakers appear to be very much in fashion. Model Nanette Lapore has her own line of Keds. Richard Chai, a world-renowned fashion designer recently designed a line of Keds. And actress Mischa Barton wears Keds as seen on the website "What Celebs Wear. These fashion-minded people do not believe that Keds are dorky.
On the Other: Keds Called 'Dorky'
Keds are found under the heading of "Dorky Shoes" on Zazzle, a website based in the UK. The fashion houses of London are where many of our fashions first start out. Although Zazzle is calling Keds, "dorky," it is still selling them on the site.
Bottom Line
When it comes down to it, personal preference is what decides whether or not Keds are dorky. If the fashion icons are wearing and designing lines for Keds, the sneakers cannot be too dorky. The website that is calling them dorky must be making money on them or would not carry a line of Keds.
