Petite women can wear long dresses and look spectacular while doing so. Wear a long dress that is form-fitting and that is cut on the bias. An A-line dress will also be flattering. A V-neck in a long dress will work to elongate your appearance.
On the Other: Dresses to Avoid
A long dress that is loose-fitting or box-shaped will make anyone look shorter, especially someone who is already petite in stature. Avoid horizontal strips or patterns that will work against you when trying to appear taller. If you add flat shoes to this look, you certainly will draw attention to your petite form.
Bottom Line
Women who are petite can look marvelous in a long dress if it is worn correctly. Wearing heels with your dress will also help to disguise your petite stature. If a form-fitting dress is not available, belt the waist as an alternative.
