What would happen to the moon if the earth changed course after a collision with an asteroid?

    I think it would change course as well, as it is in the earth's gravitational field, albeit quite far in the field. Perhaps it'd even change orbital direction!

    thats gotta be one huge-ass asteroid. and if its powerful enough to change earth's course i promise u the moon is the least of our worries lol. our planet is on a delicate equilibrium of orbital distance from the sun. thats y we have life. if we changed course even one bit all life on earth is screwed. but to answer ur question... the moon WUD probably follow us into our own demise with the sun. or open space. depends on wut direction we end up going in.
