Health care is a booming industry. Half of the 20 occupations that are expected to increase in demand in coming years are in the medical profession. Health care administration jobs pay very well, and require a much less training than medical professions.
Hospital administrator
The hospital administrator's task is to work with physicians in establishing policies and procedures. Once those have been established, it is the hospital administrator's task to carry them out.
Department or division director
A department or division director might oversee nursing activities, finances, personnel or quality assurance at a hospital or clinic.
Clinic directors
Clinic directors oversee the business operations of a medical clinic, creating objectives and implementing procedures. They are also responsible for hiring and firing employees.
Public Policy Analyst
Individuals with health care administration degrees are often hired by medical industry think tanks to work toward solving major health care problems on the national level.
Dental Office Coordinator
Dental office coordinators order supplies, hire dentists and oversee the billing of patients.
