The show is full of "physical demands of human performance" and displays an exciting and electric visual of colors on the characters' costumes. The story line follows "a melancholy loner" who is searching for his place in the world.
Kooza features numerous acts including the balancing of performers atop stacked chairs, juggling, unicycle duos, contortion and other thrilling performances. The show offers themes of fear, identity, recognition and power.
The main characters in Kooza are the Trickster, The Innocent (loner who is searching for his place in the world), The King, Clowns, The Pickpocket, Heimloss, and The Bad Dog.
Kooza goes on an international tour yearly and will be touring the United States and Canada from January to June 2010. Tickets and other information can be found on the website at www.cirquedusoleil.com.
There are several creators of Kooza including set designers, costume designers, the artistic guide, the composer and creative designers, but the current writer and director for the show is David Shiner. His career got started in 1984 when his clown character was discovered at the circus festival Cirque de Demain. He has been associated with Kooza since 1990.
