  • Installing LED tail lights is a low-energy alternative to traditional tail lights. The installation process is not difficult at all. It requires little more than the new tail light and a screwdriver. In no time at all you will be enjoying your new LED tail lights.

    Preparation

Make sure your tail lights are turned off. Open your trunk and locate the backside area of your tail light. Remove the paneling that covers the backside of the tail light. This is accomplished by either a sturdy pull of the paneling which will snap it out of place or you may have to remove a couple of screws to gain access.

    Removal

Pull the wires and tail light bulb back into the trunk and out of the tail light housing. This will make the removal of the tail light much easier. From the outside of your vehicle, remove the two screws that hold the tail light in place and take out the tail light.

    Installation

From the outside of your car, place the new LED tail light into the car. Secure the light using the screws that came with the new light. Go back to the trunk area and remove the old tail light bulb. Replace the bulb with the new LED bulb. Reattach the wires to the new tail light and place the wires and the new bulb back into the housing. Replace the removed paneling in the trunk by either popping it back into place or reattaching the screws.
