According to Planned Parenthood, only one type of antibiotic interferes with birth control pills: rifampin. Rifampin is used to treat tuberculosis, not common infections, so it's likely that your birth control won't be affected if you're prescribed antibiotics. If you are prescribed rifampin, use an alternative form of birth control during the entire time you are taking it.
