  • Honda produces a wide array of lawn equipment, along with popular automobiles. Honda manufactures many different models of lawn mowers, weed trimmers and pressure washers, all with different-sized engines. All of these engines need oil to function properly, and correspondingly, need an oil change as they are used throughout their lives. Changing the oil properly is a task that is universal to all Honda pressure washer oil- pump systems.

Honda Pressure Washer Oil Change Procedure

Changing the oil in a pump-oil system is a task you must perform for the machine to operate smoothly. The oil lubricates the moving parts within the engine, allowing the motor to run at an optimum performance level. All models of Honda pressure washers vary slightly, but the oil-changing procedure is universal. Open the oil reservoir cap on the top of the pressure washer. This is a twisting cap with a small oil can icon on the side. Twist the cap to the left and open it. Opening the top creates airflow that will allow the oil to drain out smoothly at the bottom. Find the drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan. Hold a funnel and aim it into a container as you unscrew the plug. The oil will come out very quickly, so grabbing your funnel at the last minute will not work unless you want a large mess to clean up. Allow the oil to run out completely for a few minutes, then replace the drain plug. Dispose of the oil in a safe way by taking it to a recycling facility. Ask at an auto parts store or auto repair shop if you cannot find an oil dump in your area. Fill the oil pump up with fresh oil through the top opening, then replace the cap and you are finished.
