Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in the atmosphere, in turn creating what is known as "global warming." According to the EPA, the main greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases (hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and sulfur hexafluoride).
