History
The first 3G network in the United States was started by Verizon, and the Nokia 6650 was one of the first cell phones capable of connecting to it.
Speed
3G cell phones allow users to connect to the Internet at high speeds, which means that email management, web browsing and downloading can all be accomplished faster.
Availability
Although many prepaid providers do not offer 3G phones, major providers such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint all offered 3G phones at the start of 2010.
Cost
Cell phones with 3G capabilities usually cost more than standard models, and cell phone carriers require additional data service plans to establish a 3G connection with them.
