<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Consumer Reports Gives It a Thumbs-Up
Consumer Reports released ratings of 20 popular food processors on its subscription-based website, and the 11-cup model of the Cuisinart PowerPrep Plus came in as the top model for overall performance, earning a "Very Good" for its ability to knead dough. In fact, it received a "Very Good" mark in every category of evaluation, making it the most consistent model reviewed.
On the Other: Others Rank Higher
Three KitchenAid models--the KFP740, KFP750 and KFP770--got a mark of "Excellent" for kneading in the same report, outperforming the PowerPrep Plus. Additionally, Consumersearch.com finds the 14-cup model of the PowerPrep Plus to be somewhat expensive at approximately $250.
Bottom Line
The Cuisinart PowerPrep Plus is a viable option and seems very capable of preparing good dough, but the KitchenAid models do even better when measured by the criterion of dough kneading alone.
