<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Bamboo Floors would Work in a Cottage
Bamboo flooring is known for its strength and durability. The strength of the material depends on how old the plant was when it was harvested; three years is considered the ideal minimum age. Bamboo floors can withstand the wear and tear that may take place in a cottage.
On the Other: Bamboo Floors are Easily Scratched
Bamboo floors need to be kept clean of dirt. Although dirt won't cause any harm to the functionality of the floors, the particles of dirt will create small scratches on the floor. Because a cottage may be an environment that includes large amounts of dirt or sand, bamboo flooring would not be practical.
Bottom Line
Although bamboo floors are strong, the surface can be damaged by dirt tracked in from the outside. Because cottages are often located in the woods or near the beach where large amounts of dirt can be tracked in, a bamboo floor may not be the most practical option for a cottage.
