  • GM Certified is a type of warranty and guarantee provided by auto manufacturer General Motors Corp. on certain pre-owned vehicles. The certification is an incentive for car buyers, giving them more confidence in buying a used GM vehicle over another brand.

    Age and Mileage

A GM Certified used vehicle must have a model year of six years or less, and it cannot have more than 75,000 miles.

    Inspection

Every GM Certified vehicle has undergone a 117-point inspection, ensuring that every part is in good working condition. The vehicles are both road-tested and inspected in the shop.

    Warranty

Most GM Certified vehicles include two warranties. One is a is a bumper-to-bumper warranty beginning at the date of purchase and lasting for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. The other is a powertrain limited warranty good until the car reaches 100,000 miles or reaches an original in-service date of five years old. The powertrain warranty does not cover the oldest GM Certified vehicles.

    Roadside Assistance

GM Certified used vehicles are eligible for free national GM Roadside Assistance at all hours as long as the powertrain warranty is in effect. This assistance applies even for flat tires or being locked out of the car.

    Types
