Question

Help answer this question below.

I currently live in an APT in TN and will be terminating my lease early for my new job in FL. The apt is charging a termination fee. Someone told me that according to TN law I don't have to pay a termination fee if I'm relocating for work. Is this true?

If you signed the lease and it is on there my guess is that the people leasing you the place knows it is legal. You can check this by calling the Attorney General's office of consumer affairs, or there should also be a "Landlord Tennant" mediation number in your city phone book. Also, the public library reference department or city code inspector department would know the answers I would bet.
