DirecTV basic installation is a relatively easy process. Most technicians don't need to spend much time installing the equipment. The only process that can become time consuming is when multiple rooms need to be wired for DirecTV.
Southern Sky
If you want to receive DirecTV programming, you need a clear view of the southern sky. DirecTV technicians have special tools that test the signal strength to see if your capable of receiving a clear picture.
Dish
A dish will be mounted and pointed to the southern sky. The dish is usually mounted on a roof but can be mounted anywhere that's safe.
Holes
Holes need to be drilled in order to run the cable to the specific rooms that will be receiving DirecTV. Technicians have their own tools and drill the minimum amount of holes needed.
System Test
A system test will take place once all the receivers are installed. This test will verify that you're receiving proper strength for DirecTV programming.
Briefing
The technician will give you a briefing on the basics of your DirecTV system. They'll show you how to change channels and volume and how to power on and off your DirecTV receiver.
