Quickbooks is a software used for bookkeeping in small and medium sized businesses. It is considered by many to be the leading bookkeeping software on the market due to it's affordability and ease of use.
Affordable Software
Quickbooks Pro is a version that is priced to be affordable. As of 2010, it can be found for $149 to $199 and accommodates most small business needs. There is also an online version that runs between $20 and $35 a month for up to three users.
Versions
There are several versions available. Quickbooks Pro is sold in many retail establishments. Quickbooks Premier offers more reporting options. Enterprise is for larger companies. The online version offers the ability to access your bookkeeping from anywhere.
Invoices
You can create customized invoices and either print or email them to your customers. When you customize you can even add your company color scheme and logo.
Accounts Payable
Enter bills that need to be paid, track when they are due, and pay them easily by printing checks. You also have the ability to track which vendors require the form 1099-MISC at the end of the year.
Payroll
Most versions of Quickbooks offer the ability to run a payroll. It is an added subscription that downloads the payroll tax tables right into your current software.
