<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: The History of Medicinal Vinegar
Vinegar has been said to have health benefits for centuries. It benefits the digestive system, helping nutrients like calcium to be absorbed and controlling blood sugar levels. In cooking, it can be used to substitute for salt or excessive fats.
On the Other: Vinegar Doesn't Cure Everything It's Said To
Among the diseases vinegar is said to cure are pain and obesity, as well as making one immune to mosquitoes. The clinical data to support these claims does not exist, because vinegar has not been studied much.
Bottom Line
The suggested dose of a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, supposedly the most healthful, a day certainly can't hurt you. It contains calcium, potassium and beta-carotene and amino acids, among other things, and does help the digestion.
