Spray tans have come a long way in recent years, both the do-it-yourself kind and the salon or spray-booth variety. If you choose a reputable product and exfoliate your skin beforehand, you can end up with a natural-looking, even tan.
On the Other: Not If You Aren't Careful
It's easy for a spray tan to go wrong. If you (or the salon technician) don't use a steady, even hand, you'll end up with too much spray in some areas and not enough in others, and your tan will look streaky and orange.
Bottom Line
Salons and spray booths may be more expensive than do-it-yourself spray tans, but you're more likely to end up with a natural-looking, streak-free tan. And whatever method you choose, rest assured that any mistakes will fade away in a few days.
