There are two types of nurses: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN). LPNs generally graduate from two-year Associate's Degree programs, however, one year and 18 month LPN diploma programs exist in some states. RNs can take two- to three-year Associate's Degree nursing programs or traditional four-year Bachelor's of Nursing programs.
