<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Spells Are Not Proven By Science
There is no proof of any type of spell or curse that has ever actually worked. Magic is, like any spiritual belief, based on faith rather than factual information. Without concrete evidence that spells are effective at all, it is easier to believe that the notion of spell casting is an imaginative addition to fairy tales and the like.
On the Other: Many People Do Believe
Some could argue that magic is no different than believing in God or Christ. Many religions do cite "miracles" and curses, like the plagues in the Holy Bible. Even without proof, there are believers. If people believe a spell casting has worked, then to that person, it has.
Bottom Line
Magic and spells are only real if you believe in them. If you cast a spell on yourself to be more patient, you may become more patient if you believe in the spell. Spell casting is like any other faith-based belief. You either believe it or you do not.
