    Professionally Researched. (What's this?)

Migraines can lead to a stroke. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, 19 percent of stroke victims have a history of migraines. People who suffer from migraines accompanied by aura, flashes of light and other sensory disturbances that occur before the headache, have double the risk of stroke than those who suffer migraines without aura.
