Factory picture settings are designed to "pop" out at the customer on the showroom floor, not for color accuracy. The solution is to pay an expert to professionally calibrate the television. A properly calibrated television brings the picture closer to what the content creators originally intended to be viewed.

On the Other: Noticing the Difference

For the average consumer, the factory-showroom floor settings were what sold the television. A bright screen and vivid colors are appealing to the eye, and a "proper" calibration will tone them down significantly. Price may also be a deterrent to hiring an expert to calibrate a television and without a frame of reference, color accuracy can be difficult to spot.

    Bottom Line

The Samsung B750 has fairly accurate colors out-of-the-box when set to "movie" mode. The B750 also includes plenty of picture adjustment controls to further tweak the color gamut. Overall, a professional calibration is just too expensive for an already decently accurate television.
