Babies, especially when they are learning to walk and crawl by themselves, are going to hit their heads. It's a natural part of learning to walk and move on their own. In most instances, these bumps are more terrifying to the parent then they are dangerous to the child, and your child can go to sleep as normal.

On the Other: Some Head Injuries Can be Very Serious

Babies have fragile heads and some head injuries can be serious. After the head injury, if your child at any point experiences persistent vomiting or dizziness and confusion, do not let your child go to sleep. Take them to the emergency room immediately.

    Bottom Line

If your baby acts normally after hitting their head, they are likely in no danger and can go to sleep as normal. However, follow your instincts. If you perceive a change in behavior, take them to the emergency room immediately.
