According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Frank Epperson created the Popsicle accidentally when he was 11 years old. In 1905, he left a soft drink with a stirring stick outside on a cold night. He applied for a patent on this invention in 1923 and sold it to the Joe Lowe Company in 1925.
