  • Many people purchase resin furniture for their patios. Resin looks just like wooden patio furniture and comes in a variety of colors and styles. It is cheaper than wood and easier to take care of. To protect the finish, cover it if you need to leave it outdoors in the off season, and clean it frequently during the months you are using it.

    Simple Cleaning

Unlike wooden furniture, resin can be cleaned with warm, soapy water and a clean towel. Then rinse it off with a garden hose. Wash it often, or you may have to use harsher methods to get it clean.

    Stronger Cleaning

If your resin furniture becomes too dirty for warm soapy water to clean it, mix 2 ½ tablespoons of bleach with a gallon of water and let the mixture sit on the stains for 30 minutes before wiping it off.

    Intense Cleaning

If your furniture is starting to get discolored from exposure to the elements, you can help restore it by applying orange oil. Use a soft cloth or paper towels to apply the oil. Rinse it off with water and dry the furniture with a towel. Use orange oil infrequently, as it can diminish the quality of the resin.
