The data path size on the front side bus is the amount of data that can be moved in a clock cycle. For a Pentium processor, the size is 64 bits. So 64 bits, or 8 bytes are moved in every clock cycle. If that doesn't sound like a lot, remember that processors have billions of clock cycles per second.
