Tapering off them is most advisable.going from the dose he is used to to 2/3rds or 1/2 depending on how many he was on,,then the same(2/3rds-1/2) every other day,,then off for 2 days,,you get the idea.
Be very careful doing it this way. Don't let him go cold turkey. Withdrawal can be really dangerous if not done properly. There can be seizure and other side effects. I wish him luck.
