I'm 20, and a few months away from 21. I'm 7 weeks pregnant. In your personal opinion, do you think that's too young to be pregnant?

It all depends on the person, but no, I don't believe it's too young at all. My mom's mom had her at 18. Congratulations!

I had my son when I was 25, he was planned, but now, 23 years later (isn't hindsight wonderful?), I think that was too young for me. I can not say for anyone else because everyone is different.

It depends on what kind of 20-year-old you are. If you regret the pregnancy and think your life is over because you will be saddled with someone who will depend on you for everything, then yes, it's too young. If you are thrilled and are looking forward to bringing someone into this world whom you can love, guide, nurture and help then no, you're not too young. So the answer to your question resides within you. Good luck. Being a mom is the most fun thing I've ever experienced. You have tons of fun in store for you and please enjoy each moment because it will go by much too quickly and before you know it your child will have a child and you will wonder where the time went! Happy Thursday to you! :)

Hi I had my first child when I was 19 then my second when I was 21. My husband and I are both in college and trying to make a GREAT life for our kids, it is not the age that defines you as a mother, it is how you cope w the responsibility....U will be fine ask lots of questions

Personally, I do. However, I dont know you. You might well be hugely mature, responsible, & financially independant. I just know for a fact that I'm not ready... & I'm 33yrs old.

    Well...

In my personal opinion, I think it's too late to be worrying about it now!

    :):)

No, it's not. Personally, I think people nowadays are better suited in America to wait a few more years, but it's certainly not too young in general.

compared to the kids having children at 13, there's nothing wrong with your age but I think what should really matter is if you can support your child financially and nurturance wise. If you're in school for example, you won't be able to care for your child as much and need to work some schedule around that. it's maturity more-so but I don't think 13 or 14 year olds should be having children no matter how mature they are.

It' not too young, but the fact that you ask the question is worrisome.

No! It's NOT too young! And in that you ARE pregnant, it's a "moot" point!

A hundred years ago you would have been thought of as being old for a first child.

Not if you are responible and are ready. Do you have support? I was young when I had mine.(close to your age) I did fine and it was hard, but raising kids at any age is hard today. Im young and my kids are all grown up. I have freedom and will enjoy my grandchildren one day. People are having kids past 40! Being 64 before the kids move out seems a lot harder. You will be fine, as long as you are willing and ready!
    Good look sweetheart!
