Would you feel self-pity if you're the only person in your family who have not been abroad in 2009 (like me)? Not even in an airplane?

IN 2009:
My dad went to England, Belgium, Netherlands, USA, Russia, UAE, Egypt, India and Vietnam.
My mom went to Singapore (with my youngest two siblings, a bro and a sis), Cambodia and Vietnam.
My immediate sister went to Singapore (alone), and Vietnam (with her husband, my parents and my second sister)
My immediate brother went to Singapore (twice before and after he got married)
My second sister went to Japan and Vietnam.
So they all been abroad at least once.
My newly weds brother and sister both went abroad with their couples.
(I have five siblings)

All this while I haven't been abroad for five years, and my wife never went abroad her whole life.
We both don't have passports.

I don't really eager to go abroad really. I don't think it's justified if you go there just to go to the malls and eat expensive stuff at the most expensive hotel in Hanoi and buy expensive stuff in Singapore and to visit ruins like Angkor Wat.

After they come back here I can't see any changes of behavior or way of thinking, they're still the same. Wasted a lot of money and really not being green.

But somehow I feel pressure, jealousy, envy. So much so that by the end of the year where my parents and my youngest went to Bali for five days, I didn't even want to ask about what they're doing there. But my youngest siblings told me anyway how they drink a $6 water in an upscale restaurant when that same drink cost $0,2 outside.

What's amusing is eventhough I haven't been abroad for many years, I know more about what happens outside and their cultures because I read a lot and I'm internally curious about it.
