I think that athiests are just tyring to express their opinions about their religion and anti-Christianity. I really don't see a problem with them unless they physically hurt or crudely hurt other people. I just respect them for what they do.
-
they have opinions, just like other people, and they are also people, just like christians, buddists, and other religions
-
I respect their beliefs and opposition to other religions. Everyone is entitled to believe what they choose and shouldn't be forced towards conversion. However like Kyogre-Stataen said, if this produces conflicts and starts uproar and insults to another person's religion, it should be stopped. Not athiesm, but the hurting to the other person.

in Australia, you have the choice not to believe if you do not want. But I cannot understand those who are always trying to convince people NOT to believe. What do they gain from it?
-
You mean Atheism? Great, I am one.

I'm one myself not sure of who he was, where he was, what he did,how he did it how he got here.but speak to some one most days

For the most part I think they are more angry or upset with either God, religion or an individual/s whom they feel has hurt them in some terrible way. In many cases, that is probably pretty close to the truth. I have seen some horrendous things done in the name of God. Other people don't know anything else. They were raised in an area where no one believes in God or gods. Some have reasoned Him right out of their lives. I consider most professed atheist to be looking for a God that they can trust not the hurt them the way that they were hurt or harmed in the past. If they could find that then I think they would consider believing in him. The biggest problem is the example set by God's "people." I can't say that I really blame them. I put the blame squarely in the hands or weirdos, fanatics, or zealots; as well as, well meaning but pushy, intolerant, judgmental believers. It simply does no good to tell someone that the belief system that has served them well up to that point is wrong when you can't back that up with anything real from your own life. I don't view them as any worse than a hypocritical believer. In fact, I think the hypocrite is far, far worse.

Well what i meant was athiests in general not athiesm.I am also an Athiest.I just think it's silly how every culture hold its own as the chosen people.I guess they do no harm but sure seems like a waste of life.in the case of christians or anyone that believes in a messiah ,my question is what makes you holier than all others?
-
I think that they are entitled to their opinions. Personally, I disagree with Atheism as I believe that there has to be SOMETHING out there, but then again, there is the possibility that they are actually right as well. If I knew for certain that they were wrong, I'd be some form of theist.
-
...Not any differently then I do other people. I think following organized religion is stupid, but I also think not believing in god or higher power is stupid. So...most people are pretty even on that level as far as I'm concerned.
-
I have no problem with Atheist. I respect them and their lack of faith and hopefully they respect me and my faith. I don't try to force my views down their throats and hopefully they don't belittle/bash me for my views. I truly believe in the Holy Bible, and in God/Jesus; but that doesn't make me holier than anyone/better than anyone. I could very well be wrong and they could be right. We wouldn't know till Jesus comes back or doesn't!! In His service, <:))))<>< "Sin is not hurtful because it is forbidden; it is forbidden because it is hurtful." Anonymous

I'm Atheist, and it's not because I'm angry at religion or God or Jews or anything. As much as I want to believe that there's more to life than this, I simply can't believe that anything more happens to us when we die than we just go in the ground and rot and become flowers.
-
In my opinion it's pretty much the same as someone who believes completely that there is a God of any kind. How you can be so sure, without an iota of proof of either, is just another form of denial. I have this sneaking suspicion that a lot of atheists are just angry ex-religious zealots. But then again don't believe me, I'm an agnostic and we're not sure of anything
-
They can't see what a believer see.
-
I believe it illogical to dismiss that something "cannot be" until proven. I also think that to believe this, calls for an act of faith on the part of the believer. Making him/her very much part of a faith like any other.
-
I have no problem whatsoever. I respect their choices just as much as I wish SOME of them would respect mine.
-
Depends on the atheist, I guess -- there's more to a person than their stance on religion. I myself am an atheist, but I've nothing against people with a religion.
-
A few things need to be addressed in this thread. Atheists are not anti-christian/jewish/muslim/etc. We just don't beleive that there is a deity that controls everything and defines what we should do. We live by the same ethical code that everyone else does, we just don't think that it has been imposed on us from some higher power. We don't impose our belief in science on non atheists any more than religious people impose thier beleifs on us. We do put our pants on one leg at a time (unless you can do both legs at once). We believe that there is a natural, logical and scientific explaination for everything. We don't accept that what we don't understand can be attributed to a deity.
-
Amazing people. Big contributors to our society.
-
I dont believe in God or the Devil so I guess that makes me an Athiest.
-
Some are great. Some are ok. Some are a bit odd. Some are jerks. This can be said of just about any group. In general, I get on well with Atheists.
-
I personally think Atheists are people of great faith. They believe the entire wonderful universe came into being all by itself from the smallest subatomic particle to the most immense galaxy and from the amazing complexity of the human mind to the love between a mother and child. I find it much easier to believe that an all powerful and all loving God is behind it all. I do not have enough faith to be an Atheist. With love in Christ.
-
being i can tell you that i have respect for peoples belifes but i just can't bring myself to believe there is/are all powerful god(s). (i've got a good argument if anybody wants to here it)

This answer was silly, so I removed it.

Pity for not knowing the Lord.
-
They make more efficient use of their time.
-
The most rational, and usually clear headed, intelligent people.
-
I really like them because they seem pretty smart and not fantasy prone.
-
I am also an athiest and when someone who religious says to me that there's a big man in the sky watching over all of us it's sounds more ridiculous than a person claiming to walk through a solid brick wall.
-
I feel fine, thank you. And how do you feel?
-
A bit sleepy, but then it is 6am.
-
They tend to be out of touch with reality.
