Find something you both have in common that you can relate to, and if you are experienced in the topic, divulge your ideas and experiences and ask him to share his.
People who have a common ground have more to talk about. If you are good or well-versed in a shared interest, especially if it's a male dominated one, then you may impress him. (Or intimidate him if he is a wuss).
Make sure you show you are interested in what he has to say as well, unless you want to come across as overly boistrous.
