please help is 9 7/9 equsl to 9 1/3 less than or greater

    9 7/9 is greater. think about 7/9 and 1/3 as pies split into 9 and 3 peices. if you split the pie into 9 peices and took 7 away, you would be taking almost the whole pie, only 1 small slice would remain. if you split a pie into 3 peices and took 1 away you would have 2 big peices of pie left. you can always draw a circle, then draw the slices and shade. that will give you a visual of which fractions are larger. (plus 1/3 is equal to only 3/9 so 7/9 is def. bigger.)
