Well, lets see now. At 17 you are a minor and the army will not except you. So, what are you talking about?

I'm sorry to say this but these people are retarded. It's simple.. when you signed your contract at MEPs it states "Did your parents have any influence on you to join?" If you put no then they follow through with your contract.

All you have to do is tell your recruiter that your parents made you lie about that so that you could join and that your parents forced you into it. They will void your contract with no repercussions

Oh and by the way... whoever said you can't join the military at 17 wow you really don't know what your talking about...

    Best way into the military

Junior year of high school during your summer break get enlisted and go to boot camp / basic so that when you come back to finish your senior year your time in service will still be in effect. When you graduate high school you'll go to AIT and have 1 year in time of service thus being a rank promotion.

Sure you can, the trick however is doing it without visiting the hospital, jail, or mental facility.

    You can always,
Fake being gay, (although you may have to conduct homosexual acts with other recruits before they beleive you.)

Fake a mental breakdown, suicide is always a good one (don't try to fake the act, tell people your feeling suicidal), other stuff is generally too hard to fake.

Break something hard and long to repair such as your collarbone.

All of the above are easy yet oh so hard and sucky ways to go about it. The hard at first but easiest on the rest of your life would be to just suck horribly at Basic Training and take an Entry Level Seperation.

The best thing of course is to man up and do your contract, it's not like it's a death sentence, in fact I've been in the military 8 yrs, been blown up a few times, and shot at a few but I'm still here, and still in one peice.

Whatever you do DO NOT DESERT. Thats a Federal arrest warrant, and if you ever get ID'd by a cop, anywhere, they'll arrest you on the spot and take you to the nearest base for the military's justice.

What the hell did you sign up for, if you're already wanting out? Why waste your time and the taxpayer's money?

If it was up to me, you'd spend your contract in hard labor.

    Yes.

One can do so, if one chooses to chicken out and break one's word.

Legal counselors there can answer any questions you have, in complete confidence. Much better than getting random and usually incorrect answers from websites like this -- not to mention all the hate filled vitriol I see here in answers to similar questions -- nothing "great" about those answers!

Yes, but you have to have a legal guardian sign the forms since you are still considered a minor. It is the same with all military branches in the U.S..
