It depends on which state you reside. In my state a wife generally cannot get alimony if the marriage lasted less than three years.
If you are the legal father (the child was born while you were married, or you adopted the child) you will be required to support the child after divorce.
If the mother has no other source of child support, a judge can order you to pay for the benefit of the child. I see those cases frequently.
