  • Car mirrors are highly reflective pieces of glass that are strategically placed inside and outside of a vehicle in order to help a driver see multiple angles without having to turn her head around.

    Rearview Mirror

The rearview mirror is located inside of a vehicle, attached to the middle, top area of the windshield. It should be aligned so that the driver can see the entire back windshield simply by glancing at the mirror.

    Side Mirrors

Outside of the vehicle, attached to the front doors, are the side mirrors. These mirrors help drivers see if a car is passing them on either side.

    Rounded Mirrors

Larger vehicles (usually trucks) sometimes have small rounded mirrors under the side mirrors. These offer a wider range of view, especially if a truck doesn't have a rearview mirror.

    Other Mirrors

Most vehicles have interior mirrors on the inside of the visors. These mirrors may have lights. They should not be used during driving, but as a personal mirror for use when the car is parked.

    Safety

If a mirror is not used properly, it affects the overall safety of the driver. Always use mirrors as they are intended to be used, otherwise fatal accidents could occur.
