A child can have both nonverbal learning disorder (NLD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, some children with only NLD are mistakenly diagnosed with ADHD. NLD can be missed without a thorough neuropsychological evaluation, according to Dr. Ruth Nass, professor of pediatric neurology at New York University School of Medicine.
