Usually only certain humanistic aspects of social sciences are considered humanities, such as humanistic psychology's belief that a person's experiences as a child may determine their behavior as an adult.

    Graduation Requirements

    Most college students must complete a predetermined number of humanities courses or credits in order to graduate.

    Degrees and Careers

    Degrees in subjects such as art history, English, classical studies, philosophy, theology and writing are considered humanities degrees. A humanities degree can prepare you for a career or further study in advertising, journalism, law, business and teaching.
