<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Halogen Sauna Kits
The type of recessed light to use in a sauna would be a 20 watt halogen light bulb. A halogen sauna kit can be purchased that will include the light bulb, 12v replacement bulbs, a power supply which is 110v input and 12vac output with bulb socket and 10 foot wire and all the light fixture assembly, including the lens, cap, vapor gasket and lock ring. The price for one of these is less than $100 and should be enough for one sauna.
On the Other: Locker Room Lights
In the locker room, a recessed LED light would be more beneficial. These can be picked up at any hardware store and they vary in price from $50 for one light up to several hundred dollars for a row of lights. The LED lights will be brighter in the locker room than the halogen in the sauna, and are a lot easier to change as they will burn out quicker.
Bottom Line
For the sauna go with the recessed halogen light and for the locker room you will need to purchase the recessed LED lights and decide on how many you will need and how far away to install each one.
