Keeping your DLP projector in brilliant or bright mode will give you the brightest picture available. This mode uses the full wattage of the lamp and will output the rated brightness. This is useful when you are using the projector for presentations and need to have lights on in the room so people can take notes.

On the Other: ECO Mode Increases Bulb Life

In ECO Mode, the projector doesn't send as much power to the bulb so you can get a twenty-five to fifty percent increase in bulb life for a reduction in brightness of about twenty percent. If you can darken the room, you can lower the brightness. Projectors are usually quieter in ECO Mode since they don't have to run the fan at full speed because the lamp doesn't get as hot.

    Bottom Line

If you don't need the full brightness available, you can save money both on energy use and lamp replacement by using ECO Mode.
