    Acai tea is made from the acai berry, which is loaded with antioxidants and fiber. When processed to keep it fresh and in proper amounts, the antioxidant ingredients in acai tea lend a boost the immune system. Acai tea is not pure acai berry. It is marketed as combined with black, white or green teas, which also are known for having antioxidant ingredients.

    On the Other: Acai Tea is not a Weight Loss Miracle

    While there are numerous ads claiming that acai berries are responsible for dramatic weight loss, most of these statements have not been proved. Green tea extract, on the other hand, has been shown to increase endurance during exercise, thereby causing consumers to burn more calories during workouts. When acai is combined with green tea, it may well be the green tea that encourages weight loss.

    Bottom Line

    Whether acai tea works depends on the reasons for drinking it. If better health is the goal, acai tea may be a good supplement to a healthy diet and fitness program. However, the jury still is out on acai tea's benefits for weight loss.
