    Vitamin B

    Folic acid and niacin are two items that should be on your list of heart healthy vitamins. Niacin is a gem when it comes to lowering cholesterol.

    Vitamin C

    Vitamin C acts as an antioxidant in your body, and can prevent bad toxins from mixing with the bad cholesterol in your body. If they mix, it might be harder to remove the bad cholesterol, so preventing it with Vitamin C should help.

    Sitostanol and Beta-sitosterol

    Sitostanol and beta-sitosterol are not usually found in many supplements but the Mayo Clinic recommends taking them, as they directly remove bad cholesterol from the body. These are sometimes available in fruit juices.

    Omega-3 and Calcium

    The omega-3 fatty acid is known to help lower cholesterol. You can get it naturally by eating more fish. Also, many supplements now have this ingredient. Calcium is also recommended by the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine.
