Help answer this question below.
Certo is the brand name for a liquid pectin product made by Kraft Foods. Liquid Certo is used in cooking jams, jellies and other foods. Adding Certo to the jam mixture is an essential step for jams and jellies to set up or firm to their finished consistency. The ingredients are water, fruit pectin, lactic acid and citric acid, potassium citrate and sodium benzoate. Liquid Certo is available at most grocery stores in the baking supply or canning aisles. There have been suggestions that drinking fruit juices mixed with liquid Certo could reduce arthritis pain. Dr. Tayna I. Edwards of Case Western University responded to a forum post at netwellness.org, saying that "there haven`t been any published studies on pectins in human cancers, nor in joint pain ... this is one of those cases where it's likely to be harmless, and if it may help, try it." Kraft Foods offers a hotline for questions regarding Certo. Call 1-800-268-6038, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Eastern Standard Time.Purpose
