  • Business class has traditionally been the middle tier of airline travel, between first class and coach, on flights using three-cabin airplanes. However, a few airlines offer business-class flights, using aircraft configured entirely as business class.

    Major Airlines

All business-class-only flights operate on international routes. British Airways offers such flights between London and New York. The airline's specially configured Airbus aircraft carry 32 passengers. Singapore Air operates business-class-only service between Singapore and Los Angeles and Singapore and Newark, N.J. Other airlines offering business-class-only routes include KLM, between Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Houston, and Swiss Air, between Zurich, Switzerland, and Newark.

    Other Routes

OpenSkies, a subsidiary of British Airways, specializes in business-class-only service, flying between New York and Paris and Newark and Paris. Many airlines specializing in business-class-only service have not succeeded.

    Ground Services

Ground services for these flights include a dedicated check-in counter, priority luggage handling and lounge access.

    Onboard Amenities

Onboard amenities include comfortable seats or lie-flat beds, more distance between seats than on regular flights, full-course meals and enhanced entertainment options.

    Options
