Ducane has been in business since 1893, though Weber took the reigns of the company in the late 1970's. Ducane and Weber are known for making durable, high-quality cast iron and stainless steel grills with good warranties--and they're priced accordingly. As of 2009, the price range for Ducane gas grills was from $300 to $1,200. Ducane grill reviews are generally excellent.
On the Other: It Depends on Your Budget
Weber eliminated some of the entry-level and high-end Ducane gas grills in 2009, leaving mostly mid-priced options. If you're shopping for a cheap grill--or something with all the bells and whistles--you might have a harder time finding a Ducane that meets your needs.
Bottom Line
While Ducane is known for reliability and good value, the limited number of models still being manufactured might not suit you. In the event that you are looking for a mid-priced grill that should serve you well for years to come, Ducane's history and reputation make the company a solid choice.
