  • Dr. Heinrich Reckeweg was a German physician who lived from 1877 to 1944. His contributions to the field of homeopathy are considered by many people to be groundbreaking.

    Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a holistic system of healing. It theorizes that highly diluted amounts of animal, vegetable and mineral substances will cure the same disease they would instigate in a healthy individual.

    History

Following these principles of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the father of homeopathy, Dr. Reckeweg began researching homeopathic medicines. Eventually, he chose to break from Hahnemann's tradition, which allocated using only one remedy at a time to treat an illness.

    Homotoxicology

Reckeweg developed his own system of homeopathy, called Homotoxicology. Homotoxicology uses combinations of several possible remedies, under the presumption that the body itself will select the most appropriate remedy from the choices provided.

    EUPHA

In the 1940s, Dr. Reckeweg established Laboratorium EUPHA to develop and distribute his combination formulas. In 1947, the company was renamed by Reckeweg's relatives, Dr. Alfred Reckeweg and Dr. Klaus-Gunther Reckeweg, as the Pharmazeutische Fabrik Dr. Reckeweg & Co. GmbH.

    Significance

Today, the traditions of EUPHA are carried on by the Dr. Reckeweg Co., an internationally respected distributor. The Dr. Reckeweg Co. continues to research homeopathic remedies, adhering to the traditions of its founder.
