An auto titration cpap device is used to provide airflow through a person's nose to prevent sleep apnea while she sleeps.
Sleep Apnea
Sleep apnea is a disorder in which a person's airway closes multiple times during the night. It causes fatigue, headaches and, in some extreme cases, death. A cpap counteracts sleep apnea symptoms.
How CPAP Works
Cpap devices consist of an air pump, a hose and a mask that fits over a person's nose. The pump forces air into the nose to keep a person's airway open so she doesn't stop breathing during the night.
CPAP vs. Auto CPAP
Traditional cpap machines provided a constant, even amount of pressure through the night. Auto titration cpap devices constantly adjust to every breath a person takes to deliver the right air pressure.
Comfort
Cpap devices should be worn comfortably, so come in many shapes, materials and sensitivity.
Ease of Use
An auto titration cpap reduces the airflow when the person is breathing more freely on her own, so is less intrusive than a traditional cpap device.
