Researchers at the National Institutes of Health report that consumers have taken fish oil for the male libido based on tradition or scientific theories, but also because of the positive media attention given to fish oil for its proven efficacy in promoting heart health. Researchers have found that people take fish oil for dozens of health problems including lupus, menstrual cramps, memory enhancement, arthritis, panic attacks and tennis elbow.

On the Other: No evidence it works for libido

Although NIH researchers have found through extensive clinical research reviews that fish oil is a proven treatment for various heart ailments, such as high blood pressure, as well as a major tool in the prevention of heart disease, their findings have shown there is no proven evidence that fish oil is a safe or effective treatment for the male libido.

    Bottom Line

Fish oil does not help the male libido, although scientists have proven that it is effective at preventing heart disease.
