Sometimes just touching a toe to something can help snap your body out of it. The best thing to do is to keep remembering that it's nothing serious and that it's just a sleep paralysis episode, and then try to concentrate on trying to move to snap out of it. Even if you can't snap out of it on your own, focusing on trying will keep you from going mad. Believe me, I know, I've had problems for almost 20 years now.

Do not, under any circumstances, wait it out. conscientiously try to snap out of it. I find praying helps a lot. they seem to fear it for some reason. A guy who suffers chronic s/p advised yelling at them and calling them cowards for paralyzing you... and threaten them. I have not yet tried that, but if i get another attack... I'll try, then keep you updated :)

I had sleep paralysis pretty bad. Turned out it was caused by caffeine. When I stopped consuming caffeine, the sleep paralysis went away completely. Try and see if that helps.
