I want to connect my pc screen to my PS3 but it only has a D-sub connector. I tried using a D-sub to VGI but it didn't work. Any advice?

You're reading Can the PS3 be adversely affected by static electric shocks? I tapped the disc ejecting touch sensor, got shocked, and it shut itself off.

Nope. It's been doing this for a while now, and nothing I've done has fixed its issues.
This model was technically supposed to be a replacement for my last PS3, and I've had it for only a few weeks. I'm planning on contacting Sony to see if I can't get a free switch-out, 'cause it's their fault that they sent me a system that doesn't work the way it should (did I mention when I press the power button while there's a disc inside, it'll eject the disc instead of turning the system off?).
If they decide they don't owe me anything, I'm just gonna take the blasted piece of tech and use it for target practice. Good way to dispose of crappy machinery, and very effective at letting out my emotions.

Don't destroy it, resell it on ebay, you might get 50 to 100 bucks for it. But they should fix it, it sounds like a ground problem. like your machine was not grounded properly.

I honestly don't think it's worth anything with the way it's acting. And how would you feel if you spent fifty bucks on a PS3 that ejects the disc when you press the power button, and flashes the so-called 'Yellow Light of Death' every time it comes into contact with static?
Oh yeah that's one thing I forgot to mention. The last two times it got shocked, it flashed in this sequence: Green, yellow, green, then blinking red. That means there's a big problem with it.
I dunno about you, but I'm not gonna trick someone out of fifty dollars and give them a crappy PS3 in return, it's just not right unless they have the means to fix it.

you can sell it on ebay for parts

Well now THAT makes sense, but I'm still gonna see what I can work out with Sony before doing anything. This machine lasted two and a half to three weeks before it started dying, so they definitely owe me a free replacement.

Oh yeah, they definitely owe you a new one.
